CLT Network Foreclosure Survey
Starting in 2007, the National CLT Network has been conducting an annual survey of our membership to determine the rate of foreclosure of community land trust homeowners. For the past two years, the foreclosure rate of CLT homes has been many times lower than the national average.
CLT Network General Surveys
Beginning in 2007, the National CLT Network has conducted an annual survey of CLTs and our membership, collecting information on a variety of topics.
- Network CLT Survey 2010 - In late April we completed preliminary analysis of the responses from the April 2010 CLT Survey. This survey was sent out to all community land trusts in the U.S., and we had 78 responses.
Thank you to all those who completed the survey and to Housing Land Trust of Sonoma County, Champlain Housing Trust, Thistle Communities and Proud Ground for helping to develop the survey.
While we have a lot of work to do sifting through the narrative responses, we have completed the initial summary report, along with a chart showing the geographic distribution of responses. The survey will not only inform the 2011 -2013 strategic plan, but also help us to deliver even better services in 2010! If you have comments about the survey or suggestions please go to the discussion forum (miscellaneous) to share your thoughts.

National Study of Community Land Trusts -- Lincoln Institute of Land Policy
This report presents the results of a survey carried out in 2006 of the 186 Community Land Trusts (CLTs) known to exist at this time. CLTs are used in the U.S. mainly to provide owner-occupied housing for low income households. Specifically, the report presents the results on the background, current activities, and practices of CLTs in the US. The primary purpose of the survey was to obtain baseline information from organizations using the CLT model since there is no pre-existing body of systematic empirical information about the work of CLTs.
