The Network provides national webinars on emerging research, innovations in practice, policy developments or solutions for community land trust and shared equity pracititoners, researchers, and policy makers.

This webinar will be recorded and be made available here.
In partnership with the National Community Land Trust Network and the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy, Greg Rosenberg J.D. and Jeffrey Yuen M.S. (members of the CLT Research Collaborative) have produced a Lincoln Institute working paper titled, Beyond Housing: Urban Agriculture & Commercial Development by Community Land Trusts.
During the webinar, the authors will present one segment of their research, which explores how community land trusts (CLTs) may contribute to or lead urban agricultural projects, including 1) arranging land tenure and partnerships, 2) providing ongoing programming and community engagement, and 3) growing directly. Specific cases of CLTs involved in these three aspects of urban agriculture will be reviewed to illustrate benefits, challenges, and implications relevant for CLTs pursuing urban agricultural projects. Heather Benham, Director of Operations for Athens Land Trust, will review Athens Land Trust’s development of an urban agricultural program.
Additional practitioner resources will be announced, including project evaluation checklists for urban agriculture and commercial development, a CLT project directory detailing CLT cases of projects beyond housing, and associated legal documents.
